Volcano aid / despues del volcan

This fund was created the day after the devastating eruption of Guatemala's Volcan de Fuego, on June 3, 2018. As of July 26, we have distributed approximately 25% of the funds raised to provide for immediate supplies and relief for the families affected.  However, now that we have ensured the immediate needs of the families are being met (food, clothing, medical supplies, and basic shelter), we have teamed up with a local NGO who is conducting case studies on a number of families who we have come to know well in order to properly set them up with long-term housing.

The current living situations for many families are temporary, but ConstruCasa will ensure, through interviews, municipal land records, and thorough investigation, that the homes that they source and build will be sustainable options for these families to get back on their feet and rebuild their lives.

We continue to work diligently to ensure that your funds are going to trustworthy sources and are being applied as effectively as possible.  As many families continue to search for the remains of their loved ones, we thank you a million times over for your donations and continued support.
