Helping Johnny Pay it Forward Loan

Hi Friends,
As a short introduction; after months of being on a medical trial to treat his Stage 4 melanoma condition against very high odds I was in his doctor's office on the day his Dr. turned to Johnny and said, "you are an immunotherapeutic miracle."  Leading up to that and since I have witnessed this wonderful soul continue to beat the odds and live with dignity, courage and Grace. I have personally watched him get his "swagger" back. If you know Johnny you know what I mean.

The campaign I am starting today is to help him raise enough money to be able to move to another home and live comfortably. Where he can continue to heal and recover from his ongoing treatment and many years of medical challenges.

Johnny's story in his own words:
Since being diagnosed with Stage IV Cancer I haven’t been able to work and without the help of friends, family and Social Security I would have been in a bad way.  I have basically been bed ridden for the past three years due to the Cancer, the treatment and it's effects which has ravaged my body and has left me weak and caused the loss of muscle mass.  Also during this time both of my knees were severely arthritic and needed replacement which made it difficult to stand or walk without medication.  I had to wait until my cancer drug treatment ended  before I could move forward with knee surgery and I just had my right knee replaced in August and I am scheduled to do the other in March 2018.  My days are filled  seeing  doctors who are monitoring my cancer and working to help remedy some of the side effects associated with my situation and with physical therapy.

Why I need Help
My dear friend Sherry Hursey has shared her home with me for the past three and a half years and when I found out I had cancer six months after moving in Sherry has been kind enough to accept whatever I could afford for rent .  Last summer she asked me if I could find another place because she was thinking of selling her house and planning to get married.  I was so dysfunctional and bed ridden that it was beyond my ability to do much although I was able to apply for senior housing and get on several lists.  I am currently waiting for housing availability and it may take a year or more before I hear back from them.  Sherry recently  married in June and they both deserve a break from my ongoing situation and a new start for their marriage.  It is time to honor my friends Love and kindness by moving on. 

I have been paying $400 a month rent which is almost half of my income and realize I cannot find a place for less than $800 which has been causing me a lot of stress and anxiety over the past several months.  
What I need is either a place to live in Los Angeles or I need to come up with an extra $4-500 dollars a month until either I am well enough to work again and or receive subsidized senior housing which from what I understand may take at least another year.
