Vivi's Fashion Collection: Parsons 2013

After four crazy years, my chance to make it big is here! Many sleepless nights of sewing, draping, and chocolate binging, all for the Parsons Fashion Show. 

Each year, seniors at Parsons the New School of Design showcase all that they've learned to industry execs, press, and the critical eye of adoring family members.

The inspiration for my six looks (20 pieces in total) came from the dance between a Venus Flytrap and its prey. The fly's kaleidoscopic sight, the plants seductive hues, and its carnivorous tendencies guided my designs.

Summers of saving and generally restrained chocolate consumption have brought me incredibly close to creating the line I've dreamed of, but I am still slightly short of my goal.

Any support from you would be incredibly helpful in this career-defining opportunity! After years of my parents supporting me through school, I have decided to use all of my savings and create this collection myself as to not financially burden my parents. I am thankful for all of their love and support and I hope to make them proud during my final year at Parsons! No contribution is too small "“ I once used pennies as an accent for an eveningwear gown.
