Vitos May 19th Flood
Donation protected
On May 19th, 2020, An immense storm raged through the City of Delaware, Ohio
causing extensive flooding throughout the city and outlying areas. The Southern block of the Historic Downtown District was ravaged. Fortunately, many of the buildings had basements that captured and minimized the damage. My business,
Vito's Wine Bar was decimated. The lower level housing the employee bathroom,
stock and storage area, rear office, kitchen and primary bar/back bar were submerged at a 4ft depth for hours. The damage is extensive. All kitchen and bar appliances excluding the microwave were destroyed. A thick layer of sediment/sewage covered everything. The upper deck only held 4-5inches of water, sparing the main cooler while destroying the wine cuvee'. Insurance denied the claim due to flooding!
