Dorothy's Violin for Grad School
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
I have exciting news to share with you all! As some of you may know, in the fall I am heading to Ohio University for a master's in violin performance.
Through it all, God's incredible faithfulness and providence have been evident. By his grace, I have the opportunity to attend grad school at no cost - I have been offered a spot in the Klinder Graduate String Quartet and will be a graduate assistant on a full tuition waiver and an annual stipend. For the next two years, I will be performing and touring with the Graduate Quartet, teaching undergraduate applied violin lessons, string methods and/or other classes as needed.
The decision to pursue music at the graduate level came about last summer when I decided to take a risk, to give music--my passion--a try and give it my all for once. I decided to allow music, and myself, a chance - to do what I love.
With that said, I do need an instrument of my own to continue this endeavor. Many of you know that I have been playing on a violin that was very generously loaned to me for the past two years, and the only violin I do have is one that was purchased 11 years ago when I had first started out as a beginner.
I am so thankful for each one of you who has witnessed my journey with music and has accompanied me along the way. You have given me constant support, and my growth as a musician wouldn't have been possible without you by my side.
I am reaching out to ask for your help. It's been my dream to continue pursuing music, but this means that I would need a significant upgrade in my instrument. Would you consider pitching in to make this dream come true? Your support will be the very reason I get to continue to create and spread music, and the joy it brings, to those around me.
Your gift at any level would be a tremendous help and encouragement. Anything would go towards supporting my growth as a young professional musician.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
With love and the utmost gratitude,
Dorothy
