Violent Shooting of our son Travis

Hi, my name is Mary Kay. I am the mother of Travis, the victim that suffered a tragedy on March 6th when he was brutally beaten, knocked unconscious, and shot at very close range twice. 2 men were involved. One man used a heavy flashlight to knock him unconscious. The other man shot him twice as Travis laid on the ground unconscious.

Neighbors saw what was happening and were on the phone with 911. On the call, you can hear the shooter screaming “Back up” multiple times and then you hear 2 gunshots on the call.

Travis was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. Shrapnel 2mm from his heart, 5 broken ribs and a Collasped lung.

When we got the call we rushed to the hospital only to be told by the Director of Trauma that he had a 2% chance of survival due to internal injuries caused by the buckshot that was in the lungs and abdominal area. The shrapnel had torn thru his body.

Thru tears and prayers, God was with Travis because he is still with us today.

After 33 days in the hospital, he came home to live with us. As much as I wanted to be his primary caregiver, I was unable to give him all the care that he needed 24/7. Travis is now in a Medical Recovery Center where they can offer 24/7 care.

This tragedy has caused serious physical, mental and emotional Trauma. He is getting therapy where he lives now.

Travis has no income coming in and he had no health insurance. We are paying his debts.

Every dollar given will go towards Travis and his recovery.
