The retro community around the TI-99/4A (and 99/4, 99/2, 99/8, CC-40, TI-74, etc) at this point has been around for over 40 years. In that time, the community has collected many pieces of long lost documentation, scanning and preserving it.
Two members of the TI-99 community - Jon Guidry (acadiel) and James Fetzner (Ksarul) have been present in the community for many years - designing hardware and contributing to the overall community. Jon & James recently had the opportunity to purchase some very unique documentation about the TI-99/4, /4A, CC-40, etc, from a TI engineer's estate, and are starting the process to scan it and make it available to the TI community. The documentation fills a 2 drawer file cabinet, and weighs in excess of 18Kg.
This documentation and associated costs (documents and shipping, supplies, large format scanner, document storage, etc.) has cost James and I around $2150 - which is a substantial sum. We are asking the community to please considering contributing toward this set of documents and cost to preserve it.
Before starting this Go Fund Me, we collected $270 thanks to two individuals. With Go Fund Me's fees, I decided to set the remaining balance at $1950 to start.
Regardless of how much we raise on this platform, all the documents will be posted on various sites, including our AtariAge Forum and our WHTech site, for anyone to download. The thread for current scanning activities on AtariAge is currently here if you would like to see a preview of what's to come from this archive.
