My little cat Vinny was attacked by a dog whilst sleeping under my car on 24th June. He has been in hospital for 10 days now, having various surgery to keep him alive.
He has had a large amount of necrotic tissue removed from his stomach, a blood transfusion, and he almost lost one of his legs. The vets at The Wear have managed to save his leg, and after having an open wound on his tummy for quite some time, have managed to close this with skin grafting. We've almost lost him a few times, which has been heartbreaking, but he's managed to pull through.
Despite having Platinum Insurance cover (the highest level available), this only covers us for £7,000.
His vet bill now stands at nearly £13,000!
The dog owner is an elderly lady, and although she has offered to contribute, she has nowhere near this amount of money to give us.
I have been advised to set up this page by family and friends, as they care about him just as much as me.
We're also due to get married next June, and this has caused a financial strain to say the least.
