Mr Vincent
As many people may know our beautiful Vincent was accidentally hit by a car on Friday evening.
We understand that he shouldn't be out at night and we try our hardest to get him in before dark.  It is very tricky as he is a very social butter fly and loves visiting every one and sometimes we just can't get home before dark.

Friday the 13th 18' We rushed him to Kirrawee vet hospital where they quickly and efficiently gave pain relief, stabilised him and did skull X-rays.
This determined he had a broken jaw and a fracture to his left eye socket and a severe head injury. Apart from his head injury his lungs, heart, body and internal organ function were extremely good it was a waiting game to see how he was going to do mentally and how he would respond 12 hours later.

December 2016 Vincent was a blood donor to a critically ill cat where unfortunately the situation was more severe than just the blood transfusion but never complained prior and post and was just as smoochy as every after the procedure.

With the help from Dr Natalie De Souza from Kirrawee vet hospital we transported Vincent to Sydney emergency and specialist practice in botany where he was seen to straight away.
He got a ct scan done on his skull to see the extent of his injury and his jaw wired.
The next 12 hours would be critical but Despite  multiple fractures to his skull the next day, thanks to some lovely pain relief and amazing staff, he knew who we were, he knew his bed and mannie's ( our dog, Vincent's best friend) teddy bear where he had one sniff and wanted to smooch it.

He was responding really well.

He is being looked after around the clock by amazing nurses and under the hands of Dr Chris tan at Eastside vet clinic botany.

We understand this  is our decision to go ahead with a large surgery where Vincent will loose his eye, hopefully repair his jaw, which will require his jaw being wired closed, then the Dr will insert a feeding tube and will be in and out of hospital for many weeks, if things go well.

We understand this commitment and are happy to go ahead with it.

For us all mental signs are there and his body is in perfect condition  considering he is 14 years old, and responding really well, using the kitty litter the next day was a very positive sign.

So we need to give him  this chance.

At current ( 16.4.18 at 630pm )Vincent is in surgery where his eye will be removed, jaw wired and feeding tube inserted, there could be a possibility of a blood transfusion but only time will tell.

I will keep you posted on his surgery and his recovery.

There are vet bills  currently unsure of how much ....where the hard working vets and vet nurses that provide  the high standard patient care round the clock deserve.

We aren't expecting any thing from any one but this go fund my page is out there for any one who would like to help us help Vincent/ vinnie/ V dogs / Big v/ big v belly rubs.
we love you big V.
