Rugby Family's Road to ECC

Donation protected
The Villeneuve girls are a powerhouse duo of raw rugby talent. Coming from a sport heavy family of 5 kids and their supportive parents, Jacqui and Johnny.

Originally the girls played on the Gatineau Gladiateurs in the U15 division which competes across the Outaouais Region.
Recently, the Villeneuve girls were scouted by the Eastern Ontario Rugby Union U18 Girl's coach by chance and were shortlisted for the Eastern Ontario Rugby Union U16 team. The U18 coach happened to be refereeing a game the Gladiateurs were playing and immediately wanted them on the U16 team.

Their place on the team was confirmed just days ago and immediately the fundraising has begun. The girls have started working as much as the can at the Rideau Bakery where their mother Jacqui manages the store; doing anything they can from cleaning mixers and ovens to lending a hand up front. The fees for the team are $2000 a player and this all goes towards air fare, accomodations, meals, tournament fees, and tickets to go see the Canadian women's team play against England. The additional $1000 is for gas and expenses for 1 parent to accompany the girls to their games.

About our girls:

Shayna is a 15 year old high school student, going in to grade 10. She has been playing rugby for 2 years and has played a number of other sports since she could walk. She loves volleyball, basketball, four-wheeling on her ATV and watching shark week. She is a star athlete and has won several awards at her high school including Coach's award for volleyball and most improved player for 2 other sports. When she isn't on the field with her younger sister, she is spending time with her other siblings Paige (12), Connor (11) and her youngest sister Brooklyn (4). Shayna is a wonderful girl, who is extremely honest and dedicated to anything she sets her mind to. She dreams of one day travelling the world playing on the Canadian National Rugby team.

Emma-Mae is a 14 year old going in to grade 9 at the same school as her older sister. She will be the youngest player on the U16 team and has a tenacious spirit that can rival even the most seasoned players. Emma-Mae is fiercely protective of her 7 year old Labrador-Boxer dog Max who shares her birthday. She is devoted to art and poetry and has won several awards for her art skills. Emma-Mae loves giving a helping hand on the farm feeding the goats and pigs, as well as showing off her superhuman strength. She enjoys all winter sports, snowboarding and skidooing across her family's picturesque 15 acre farm. In the future, Emma-Mae has many dreams but hopes to join her sister playing for the Canadian National Rugby Team.

With these funds we will be able to help pay for the girls travel and expenses and they will be able to further their rugby careers. Any donation helps and we, the Villeneuve family thank you for any help you can offer to make our girls' dreams come true.
