Vida para Frank

Hello! I am María Claudia or as everybody knows me,Coco. Today along with my mother Andreina and my sister Natalia we have decided to share with you our 2 years story and how our life has changed ever since. My dad Francisco, better known as Frank, who lives in Ecuador was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, it is a rare type of cancer which affects blood cells and when these malign cells grow out of control any cell may become cancer and could spread to other parts of the body. During these past 2 years we have fought it and we put all our personal and economical efforts and resources in this battle. Everything In our hands to stop this disease and save our beloved "Ayi" as his grandchildren call him. Unfortunately this cancer came back and the latest evaluations revealed that he needs a more aggressive treatment called Immunotherapy, this injections will help Frank to control the disease, since there is no cure. The cost of each injection is about USD 3,000 and we need to add the application and other costs associated with the side effects caused by each dose. On average it is one dose every 6 months in the best case (if it is not favorable, weekly doses must be applied) until Frank regains control and achieves his stability again; in addition to the treatment Frank will need continuous scans and exams to assess the evolution of his condition. That is why we beg for the sensitivity and the help that any of you might give us to save and prolonge the life of our father. Soy María Claudia y para todos los que me conocen Coco, hoy  entre mi mamá y mis hermanas Andreína y Natalia decidimos  contarles lo que hace dos años y cinco meses cambió nuestras vidas. Mi papá Francisco, para sus amigos Frank, que vive en Ecuador,  fue diagnosticado con  Leucemia Linfocitica Crónica, es un cáncer en la sangre  que se origina cuando las células comienzan a crecer sin control, esto se traduce a que casi cualquier célula puede convertirse en cáncer y propagarse a otras partes de su cuerpo.
Durante estos años hemos luchado y puesto todos nuestros medios  para que la enfermedad no haga de las suyas en nuestro amado "Ayi" como le dicen sus nietos; lamentablemente nos esta ganando y sus ultimas evaluaciones revelaron que requiere un tratamiento más agresivo denominado Inmunoterapia, son inyecciones que le ayudarán a controlar esta enfermedad, ya que no tiene cura. Cada inyección tiene un costo de USD 3.000, más la aplicación y gastos que conlleva los efectos secundarios que ocasiona cada dosis, en promedio es una cada 6 meses en el mejor de los casos (si no es favorable, tendrían que aplicarse cada semana),  hasta volver a retomar el control y logremos nuevamente su estabilidad; además de las tomografías y exámenes continuos, que son los encargados de mostrarnos la evolución de la misma.  Por ello apostamos a la ayuda que cualquiera de ustedes pueda darnos, implicaría prolongar la vida de nuestro padre. Los que conocen a mi papá saben que es un ser MARAVILLOSO, BUENO Y AMANTE DE LA VIDA, el mejor esposo, padre, abuelo, tío y amigo que se puede tener, siempre con una sonrisa y actitud positiva a la VIDA.
