Vicki's Victory
Donation protected
Vicki Smith is 67 and totally blind, from birth. Up until January, 2017, she was totally independent, ambulatory without a walker, living in her own home, alone, with a guide dog. She developed problems that lead to diagnosis of a meningioma tumor on her upper spine. Surgery on June 1 removed the tumor, but left her debilitated, with no feeling in her right leg/foot.
Since then, through rehab at CAMC and a skilled nursing facility (SNF), she has made great progress. Her insurance has run out and she is not quite ready to go home alone. She will be in an assisted living facility (ALF) for a temporary stay.
Her bill at CAMC is $4,600. Her bill at SNF is 3,500. Her bill at ALF is $6,400 for August and September.
Vicki is working very hard on her rehab. Her goal is to get back home. She has NO family. The goal of this campaign is to aleve her financial burden, plus prevent a credit card balance that she will never be able to repay.
Thank you for considering.
