My friend Vicki is a single parent and social worker caring for an adult with autism. She's done a lot for her daughter and her clients and friends, but this year has been disastrous.
Because she suffered a head injury on the job she hasn't gotten her full pay for the last year, and Workers Comp. isn't approving her treatment. The last straw for Vicki was her daughter's medical crisis in January. Vicki used energy she didn't have to fight for her daughter's surgery and stay at her side in the hospital. Vicki came down with flu and bronchitis and spent 4 days in the hospital. Her worries are making it harder to recover.
She faces possible loss of her home and job, and really needs both financial and practical help. With time or money, we can put a floor under Vicki, help save her home, and help her make a plan to retire from her very demanding job.
Without Vicki her child faces poverty and homelessness. With Vicki and a Disability Trust, she has a secure home even after Vicki is gone.
