Vicious Explosive Attack Leaves Man Without Arm

Donation protected
Hi, My name is Mandie, and I am seeking help from the community to help restore hope and health to 49 year old homeless man named Ron Turnboo, after a 25 year old male,  threw/rolled a homemade explosive at him on New Year's Eve, blowing the lower 1/3 of his arm off. The young men fled from the scene, leaving Ron with a missing arm/hand, and several leg wounds, to walk all the way accross town to St. John's Medical Center in the middle of the night, with temperatures well below freezing, because he had no phone to call 911. At least one suspect, who admitted to throwing the bomb, Corey Bartlette, 25 of Longview.  has been aprehended by Longview Police and is currently out on bail awaiting arraignment on January 13th, 2022. Upon arrival on foot to St. John's, Ron was transported to Portland for emergecy amputation surgery.

We do know that life will be extremely hard after he is released. he will need months of physical therapy, and being homeless, there is no way for him to realistically pull himself onto his feet while trying to adapt to life without one arm. I put together a list of expenses and grooming, household, and personal care basics for comfortable, safe, warm living for 6 months post hospital release. This will afford him time to learn to do self care, cooking, etc with one arm, as well as connect with resources such as CAP, mental health, DSHS, medical, disability, and look for work if he is able at some point.  I also alloted for a lump sum of money to be given to help transition into an apartment at the end of the 6 months if he was able to obtain disability or find work.

I have included a breakdown of how I came to this amount, and whatever donation amount received will go to the most critical needs first.  These are estimates I got from local motels,  Amazon, and walmart.

Please consider donating, even $1 from each and every one of you together would fr exceed our goal. Place a hand behind your back, and try to care for yourself for even an hour, and then imagine doing so with no home, or transportion, or private safe place to heal. This man was the victim of a vicious, heartless, crime, and even though nothing will make up for the loss of his arm and the trauma this has caused, if we all pull together, we can give him the beautful gift of the best possible recovery. Thank you so much.

Here is a general breakdown of costs. These are again estimates, and u have not talked to Ron to break down exactly what he needs,  this is just my best estimate. After he has a few days to heal,  I will get together with him to see what he prioritizes, and go fun there.
