Vibes In The City Artist Relief Fund

100% of funds will be distributed directly to the artists, creatives, curators, service workers, etc., all who are in need of support throughout the Vibes In The City community.
The Vibes In The City Artist Community is something near and dear to my heart. What started off as an idea in my notebook to give artists in the Newark, New Jersey Hip Hop scene, a safe haven to build bridges with each other has turned into much more. Since launching in January 2016 with my childhood friend and business partner Leno, many up and coming creatives associated with Vibes In The City consider it their home away from home. Our provided platform gave spotlight to over 1000 artist by way of 200 plus shows. Vibes In The City has also made available revenue streams for Freelancers and Creatives such as DJs, Artists, Hosts, Photographers, Videographers, Curators, Bartenders, Clothing Vendors, Security Personnel etc.
Unfortunately, almost all of those streams of revenue came to an immediate halt due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. As we all know, events have been cancelled and many creatives who relied on such events to help with their livelihood now face scary and uncertain times as we all can imagine. Now with social distancing requirements seemingly becoming more like our new normal, many creatives who rely on collaborative work like photoshoots, studio sessions, pop-up shops, etc, now faced with the undaunting tasks of making those things happen due to heavy restrictions in place.
Sadly, all tangible Vibes In The City events are cancelled for the foreseeable future. As of now, I’m in a fortunate position with my family. However, many others are not and I feel like it is my duty and responsibility to seek out any assistance for others. Whether you're a loyal participant or far/near supporter of what we've been doing over the course of these last four years, we ask that you please consider pledging your financial support. Know that 100% of your donated dollars to this fund will be distributed directly to the artists, creatives, curators, service workers and all in anyway with associated with the Vibes In The City community.
This fund is aimed to help those who have been financially impacted by COVID-19, whether that's gig cancellations or loss of employment. We will try to help as many people from our Vibes In The City community as possible. There will be a simple yet thorough comprehensive criteria application process. We will distribute the monies until its exhaustion; and other support until crisis ends.
Our goal is to help with rent, food, childcare, medical and all essential impact needs. The limited amount distributed to individuals will vary based on their most essential need of support; in part or full.
