CancerPlus One (C+1), is a non-profit organization tackling social and economic issues to help individuals and their families fighting cancer, multiple sclerosis, and other chronic illnesses. Brother and sister, Matt and Bernice Nelson, promised James Watts (Bernice’s fiancé and Matt’s best friend) that they would build something in his name, so his pain and suffering from Hodgkin’s
Lymphoma wouldn’t be for naught. Unfortunately, in 2013, James lost his fight to cancer; however,
Bernice and Matt continued with their promise by starting the Cancer Diaries Organization and the C+1
movement. Since then, C+1 works with individuals and families, providing access to natural alternative treatment resources, health outreach and advocacy support
In an effort to give back to the community this holiday season, C+1 will host its first Inaugural Night of Hope experience for need-based families and sheltered individuals on November 20th. Guests will enjoy an art exhibition, fine cuisine provided by DC elite chefs, and live performances in Washington DC.
Donations for this fabulous event will go towards providing care packages filled with everyday supplies and perishables (ie., toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant and blankets) for daily living, and fund a night of hope and empowerment for all attendees.
Monetary donations for this event can be donated until November 15, 2017.
