Glen's Medical and Living Expenses

Donation protected
On July 3rd, Glen was struck by a motorcyclist while out for an evening walk with his wife Sue and son Jared.
He was rushed to the ER in critical condition and sustained multiple broken bones with swelling and bleeding of the brain.

Through the dedicated work of the ER and ICU teams at Regions Hospital he has stabilized and begun the long road toward recovery.  He is now at the VA Hospital where he receives daily therapy and care to help him improve his speech, motor functions, and coordination.

It was a difficult decision to make this situation public as we didn't want to cause more pain or villify the motorcycle driver and his family. This is about improving Glen's care and quality of life and making sure when he leaves the VA Hospital and returns to his home, that it is wheelchair accessible and accommodating towards his needs as he recovers. OR that he can move to a new one-story home if that is what's more appropriate.

Glen is in good spirits in spite of everything he's endured. Anyone who's met him knows he loves to chat, joke, and tell stories. He makes friends quickly and loves to tease and cause mischief with the hospital staff. His family visits him daily to offer care, support, and love.

He's an immensely hard worker, with over 20 years in the Navy and countless hours coaching youth sports, and has been active his whole life. Being confined to a bed and wheelchair is a situation he's never faced before and we pray that God grants him the strength and serenity to overcome this great challenge. It is too soon to talk about what his long-term recovery situation will be, but please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

He can use your help through prayer, letters, visits(please contact a family member before visiting), and any donations that will go toward his hospital bills and home accomodations.
