Help Corey Study Music at EMF

My name is Corey Fair, and I have recently decided to pursue an orchestral career in hopes of winning an orchestral job. As a result of that decision, I had to start preparing myself for the audition process, even before graduate school auditions. So, I auditioned for the Eastern Music Festival Summer Study Program in Greensboro, North Carolina, and I was offered a contract! EMF is one of America's finest orchestral, piano, conducting and classical guitar studies programs. This five week summer music festival is an extraordinary educational experience for talented, dedicated, young artists.

This is a huge stepping stone for me, as it will help me obtain recommendations for Graduate School and advance my career in percussion performance. Unfortunately, after scholarships the festival is still really expensive to attend...so I am seeking donations. 

My passion for music started at a very young age, but for the past four years I have been studying percussion at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. So far, this senior year has been very rewarding for me! I was nominated and voted President of NAfMe Collegiate Chapter for CSU. I also participated in a concerto competition, and as a result of my performance, I was granted the opportunity to play as a soloist with the CSU Wind Ensemble—which is usually reserved for faculty musicians. Attached is the video where I'm playing William Kraft's Timpani Concerto No. 1, which was also included with my audition submission for the festival.   A blogger just happened to be in the audience and wrote this review of the performance.
