Vetri Family Funeral Costs
Don protégé
On February 2, 2020, my sister Barbara and I lost our Mother to cancer. Barely two months later on April 3, we lost our Father to a respiratory illness. Losing both our parents in such a short span of time has made this some of the darkest and most stressful times for us. The only silver lining is knowing that our parents are together again in spirit, with no more pain and suffering -- and we are so grateful that God blessed us with wonderful parents in the first place. They were truly soulmates and they passed their love onto us.
The extra salt in the wound was that our dad was too ill to attend our mom's funeral service, and now due to the COVID-19 pandemic we can't have any funeral service at all for my dad.
Even so, it has still cost us a good chunk of money for their arrangements and cremation. Our parents had no money to leave to us. We really hate asking for handouts -- since so many people are struggling financially right now, and this is our responsibility alone. However, we are really struggling to keep our heads above water and I know there are some family members and friends who want to help, so this is the most organized method for that.
The total for both funeral arrangements was $5,100. We are attempting a goal of $2,000. We still will pay the lion's share and use some of our stimulus money, but if people are willing to help us it will lighten the financial burden as we try to heal mentally and emotionally.
Anyone who donates $50 or more will receive a gift from us. We have a lot of handmade crocheted things my mom made, and can even make you a mini svingiuna if you like. We're brainstorming other creative gifts & thank-yous as well.
