History

The Veterans Wellness Watch 2021 is an virtual/in person event aimed at providing resources to Veterans in the bay area specifically targeting the Oakland East Bay.

The resources provided will be in the form of Backpacks that contain toiletries, clothing, and outdoor survival equipment. There will also be 3 presentations by veteran service organizations as well as 3 tabled organizations aimed at providing onsite referrals.

The goal of this event is to provide resources to veterans in need and to create a template that can be recreated quarterly throughout the year in order to serve more of the population.

Diane Williamson, the founder of The Veterans Community Media Network (TVCMN) is the cultivator and host of the East Bay Veterans Town Halls. Pre COVID, these town halls were monthly and designed to be a community meeting in which veterans and resource providers can come to share information on a variety of resources such as Healthcare, Education, Housing and Employment (HEHE). When COVID restrictions began, Diane pivoted to a totally virtual platform where she brought providers on to engage with veterans via Zoom.

The Veterans Wellness Watch 2021 will bring those two worlds together, where veterans can access those resources and others in person as well as virtually through live stream.

A goal of 2,000.00 has been set to buy backpacks as well as other toiletries, clothing and other equipment to add to our current in-kind donations that we will be providing to our homeless veteran attendees.
