Veteran's Memorial Park

Cheboygan Michigan is a rural Northern Michigan community.  Like most rural communities across America we have virtually no major industry.  Our economic existence is dependent on the tourist trade. So unlike large metropolitan locations we do not have corporate funding to lean on to help support our non- profit funding. Please do not misunderstand me, our local businesses and our community is very generous, often beyond their means.
So we have been pursuing a dream to recreate our Veteran's Memorial Park.
The existing park is in pretty rough shape.  The World War ll Memorial has withered away to nothing, we have never had a monument to honor the Korean War Veterans, and we do have a decent memorial to our Vietnam War Veterans.
So we have an excellent base to start with.  The site is in the middle of town with good landscaping.  Originally the trees were planted to honor Veterans from all eras. 
I am calling for all "Hands on deck"!  Sorry, that must be the Navy in me. I am a U.S. Naval Cryptologic Technician that served during the Vietnam War.  I can't tell you any more than that, or you know what!
My goals for the fundraising and the end product are quite a bit higher than the committees goals.  So if you can help us in any way possible please join us in making our dream of having one of the finest Veteran Memorials in the country come true.


If we exceed our financial goals,  some or all of those funds may be used for other Veteran's support programs.  The decision to use those funds, and the selection of what additional Veteran programs to support will be made by the Veteran's Park Memorial committee.
