Veteran, father, friend - Help Jim fight Cancer

Donation protected
Jim Goodrich was recently diagnosed with a very rare, very aggressive liver cancer and needs our help!

Jim's health issues began while he was dutifully serving our country in the US Army. He served honorably for six years and sometime during his service, he contracted Hepatitis C. This disease ravaged his liver, with several severe bouts of illness, one of which nearly took his life in 2014. Through advances in medicine Jim was "cured" of the Hep C in 2017, however he was told he would remain high-risk for liver cancer due to the damage that had already been done to his liver. Because of this, Jim had been undergoing MRIs every 6months to check for any sign of cancer.

His most recent MRI showed the dreaded signs....a biopsy was done and the news was worse than imagined. Not only did Jim have Hepatocellular Carcinoma (the most common type of liver cancer) but he also has a spot of mixed Hepatobiliary Carcinoma. This cancer is very rare and because it is a combination of two different types of cancer contained in the same cell, there are limited effective treatment options. It is also a very aggressive cancer and because of the poor prognosis, a liver transplant usually isn't considered.

Jim is certainly facing the battle of his life! During Jim's fight against the Hep C, (with the medical bills, lost wages, medicines, etc) Jim & Amy's financial resources have been depleted...and now this. Jim's insurance limits the medical facilities at which he can receive treatment. There are several hospitals however, with new treatments/clinical trails with this type of cancer, but they are out of his network and/or in other states. He needs financial help to make these resources an option for him. In addition there will be more medical bills, Jim is unable to work (at minimum during treatment, more likely long term), more medicines/medical equipment needed, and Amy will miss work (wages) so she can be with Jim as he goes through this battle.

Jim is a kind, gentle soul who is a faithful husband, loving father and loyal friend. Please help if you can.
God Bless
