Vet payment for sick rescue animals

Over the years I have rescued and adopted many animals. I live across the street from an orchard and have often found abandoned animals.

My intentions were to give these animals a warm, loving and safe life indoors. I have committed myself to being their forever home if I was unable to find them homes. 

There are 16 sweet babies in my house getting love and cuddles every day. They are my family and I love them dearly.

All of my reserve funds went to trying g to save the life of my 2 year old tuxedo cat, Paul, that had a rare blood issue. From June to December 2020 Paul had 4 blood transfusions and a plethora of medications. The vets at Wasson Memorial Vet clinic did everything in their power but he was unable to survive in the end. His care cost me all of my savings but I’d do it again in a heartbeat. 

Then, on Christmas Eve (just 20 days after Paul passed) I noticed a couple of my other cats looking sick and I also noticed my 11 year older chihuahua was having trouble walking. Soon after we lost my kitty, Cricket and discovered that an infection of Parvo had spread though the house. I was under the impression that many of my cats had been vaccinated by my previous vet when I took them to be fixed and that was not the case. 

this resulted in multiple hospitalizations for these 7 sick cats. Every 24 hours it costs about $400 for the cats to be hospitalized.

Peanut the chihuahua slowly became paralyzed and I was told I would need to get an MRI which is $4,000 minimum. I decided to get her on medication and pray for the best right now and she slowly was able to regain some strength but she is still paralyzed on her left side. 

saldy the 7 week old kitten (pictured above with peanut the chihuahua) passed away on NewYear’s Eve and yesterday we lost another sweet lovable baby that was being hospitalized. 

Last night I was informed that one of the other hospitalized cats needed a blood transfusion or she would not make it. I went though with the transfusion and she is looking good but not healthy yet. 

the vets are so wonderful and doing everything they can and they are willing to work with me on a payment plan but financially I don’t know how I will be able to cover everything. Last time i asked what the bills were at it was $4,600. 

I managed to pay off about $2000 of that but that was before the emergency vet for the kitten and Miu’s transfusion.
