Verde School Fundraiser

For the past 23 years, Supervisor John Gioia has sponsored the Verde School benefit drive. It's one of his favorite Holiday traditions.

 

This year, our donations will buy new books for each student courtesy of West County READS, fund a youth-designed mural on one of the school's buildings, and beautify a vacant lot near the school with Holiday decorations in partnership with RichmondLAND.

 

Supporting our youth and advancing health and equity for families is an effort I am always passionate about! The kids and staff of Verde are an inspiration and the light of the North Richmond community.

 

Everyone is welcome to attend this year's bilingual party themed "“What are you hopeful for in the New Year?"  and we'll all have space to share our thoughts on what we've endured during the historic pandemic and what inspires us about the future. We'll also hear from Verde K8 Principal Eric Acosta-Verprauskus about the amazing work of his students and staff this year. Verde K8 family support specialist Martha Nieto-Serrano will also provide a Spanish language update.
