Vehicle to transport my son

Hi my name is Isabel Llavet , and and my son name is Dereck Silva.

We arrived in the State of Rhode Island with nothing, in 2017, only with a bag and $500 dollars, I left everything, and we started again from 0 so that my son had fair medical help with expert doctors in this condition and better quality of life , It has not been easy, there have been very big changes especially with his condition

I hereby try to ask for help to get a vehicle to be able to transport my son along with his chair, especially to his medical appointments.

My son's medical condition is known as Limb-girdle Muscular Dystrophy and Emery-Dreifuss Muscular Dystrophy, a condition that was diagnosed when he was six years old, after many visible signs since he began to walk. After being diagnosed when he was seven years old, this condition completely limited his gait. Over the years, this condition has increasingly limited his movements. The clinical course is progressive, and is characterized by weakness and atrophy predominantly of the muscles of the extremities. Due to this, at the age of 13, he has lost strength and movement in his hands, his tongue and all his organs are being monitored every 6 months, since all his muscles are compromised, including his heart, a situation that has led him to depend on 90% from me.

At this moment we have been transported in public buses, but they are not very safe and we have already had mishaps and accidents, which worries us greatly.

I dedicate myself 100% to my son, and I fight every day so that my son has a better quality of life , with a great medical team and a good home , which somehow manages to compensate for the difficulty of his condition .

He is a very noble boy, he is very fair, he loves animals and science, he is very intelligent, he always has a smile regardless of the situation, he is a great human being, and with a huge heart, there is nothing to stop him, he is who has given me the greatest life lessons, is why I stay strong. God gave me the greatest gift with him I have learned so much I only wish with my heart to have a car and allow him to know much more, and make our visits to his doctors without worries, in an accessible way for him
