Saying that our world has imploded would be an understatement. Aunt Von was my second mom, and her home was my safe place. There have been times when I have watched her give generously to those in need, despite not having extra money, and even give people a place to live when there wasn’t any space. She inspired me to be a better, stronger person every day, and I can’t remember hearing her complain about having a bad day—even though everyone has them. She loved me the same way she loved everyone: unconditionally.

She was only 55 when her doctor diagnosed her with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which is a cancer of the part of the immune system called the lymphatic system. We were told Hodgkin’s lymphoma was treatable, with a high success rate, so she began chemotherapy almost immediately. Less than three weeks later, she passed from the impact of the disease.

Our family is at a complete loss for words. Aunt Von’s passing was so sudden, as one day we were all on the phone talking and the next day, she was gone.

We would greatly appreciate any contribution you can give, as this sudden, heartbreaking news has not afforded us time to create a financial plan. Your kind generosity would help our family immensely.

Thank you, family and friends, and we love you always❤️❤️❤️
