VanTilborg Family Medical Expense Help

On October 19, 2020, Richard VanTilborg was taken to the VVMC ER where an aggressive infection was diagnosed in his foot caused by an unknown diagnosis of diabetes. Because of the seriousness of the infection, a decision was made to transport him to The Banner University Hospital in in Phoenix for proper and emergency surgery.

During his stay at Banner, Richard had 2 surgeries along with daily intensive treatments with antibiotics, oxygen therapy and a wound vac. During his stay he and the family were educated on how to treat his diabetes. Due to the severity of the infection and being diabetic, it has been a slow day by bay recovery process.

He was finally released to come home October 29, 2020 with an intense regimen of IV antibiotics, several prescriptions, wound vac, skin graphing and home healthcare for the next 6 weeks. Unfortunately, Richard experienced a setback shortly after he got home and was re-admitted into VVMC ER where he stayed for a week while being treated for double pneumonia. He has since been back home and is continuing his treatment plan on the full road to recovery.

As many of you know, Richard has been an active member of our community here in Cottonwood with Stallion Stucco and most of us has enjoyed his music with Colorado Cool Aid and playing at our local American Legion with Renegade and Happy Days.

Although he has a long road ahead of him with is recovery, his body has been responding well and he is determined to get back to playing music soon!
