Vanilla Bean Farm - Uganda Humanist
Tax deductible
Pearl Vocational Training College is a secular humanist school in rural Uganda that empowers "forgotten people" like HIV-orphaned youth, abandoned and widowed women, and teenage unmarried mothers.
Brighter Brains Institute is a USA nonprofit that delivers aid to humanist communities in Africa.
We're raising funds with Atheist Alliance International to start a Vanilla Bean Farm on the Pearl campus. The vannilla beans will provide income to Pearl Vocational Training School, plus teach the agricultural skill.
Vanilla beans are one of Uganda's most profitable crops.
Revenue from selling the vanilla beans will be used to set up a candle-making factory and a sewing workshop - to construct sanitary pads. Both products will be sold at the local Masaka market, to gain funds for the college.
Vanilla beans are easy to grow in Uganda, but they're so valuable armed guards have to be hired near harvesting time, to protect the crop from thieves.
Please help us support the marginalized, humanist Ugandans - with this delicious project.
