Wheelchair Minivan for independence

Hi I'm Julien, originally from Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada.

I've been living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type III, a condition that affect my spine muscles and nerves, since birth. Living with a disability is never easy but I've always wanted to have a normal life, have a career, a family. I decided after high school to pursue my education, in 2004, to do what I wanted in life, to become a Graphic Designer.

I was able to find some jobs in that field of work but nothing that would bring me a full time position, so in 2011, I decided to go into sales, which I love.

In 2011, I met the woman who would change my life. In the summer of 2013, she was offered a job at the other side of the country so we decided to live appart for a little while, but after a year, I decided that I wanted to live with her so I left my job, my family and moved to Saskatchewan, Canada to start my family. I now work part time because I could not find something else in my field of work, and not having the strenght to do any physical work make it difficult to find something else.

Since 2011, I've been driving around in "BigRed", a 2002  Red Dodge Grand Caravan. At the time I wasn't able to use it much because I couldn't drive it myself, but now that I have my little family and a "kid", my little dog, my van is the most important thing that I own, beside my wheelchair, that brings me my independence. BigRed is now over 13 years old and is starting to be really expensive to fix. The problem is that we can't afford to buy a new van, which can cost over 60 000$ with all the modification I need to be able to fit in it with my wheelchair, that is why I need you, to help me raise enough money so that I can get piece of mind and not worry about breaking down on the side of the road.
