Val Chandler's Transplant Fund

Val is a dear family friend who is currently waiting for a liver transplant due to a rare gentic condition  called Primary Biliary Cirrhosis.  This  will require Val to stay in the Edmonton hospital for one month possibly more. Then once she is out of the hospital she will have to reside in Edmonton for the following 3 months.  Val runs an in home daycare so obviously she is self employed and has no has no sick leave or medical benefits to cover  the costs.  One of her medications will cost $1500 per month and is not covered by Sask Health or any additional medical coverage. She will be on this medication for a minimum of 3 months.  

We are hoping to raise $15,000 to help them with their living expenses while in Edmonton plus assist their 2 children who will remain in Prince Albert  with family to continue the school year.  

Her transplant date could come at anytime and they have to leave at a moments notice.  She is at the top of the list for B type blood so you can see her case is extremely urgent. 

We are asking friends, family and strangers to find it in your hearts to help this wonderful family in their time of need. This is a very stressful time for Val and her family and we would like to help eliminate their  financial stress.
