Val's Cancer Fight

Donation protected
Pancreatic Cancer is by far the most insidious and lethal cancer to be diagnosed with. With 5 year survival rates of less than 9%, the sentiment “Time is Precious” could never be more true. In January 2019, Valerie received the devastating diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer and in 13 short months it has gone from Stage 1 to Stage 4. Val has endured every treatment possible from surgery to rounds and rounds of various chemotherapies. Since, Pancreatic Cancer is very aggressive and resists new treatments quickly, Val and her family have had to search the world for additional treatment options. PIPAC (Pressurized Intra Peritoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy) is an innovative approach to delivering chemotherapy that has shown significant results and has and can extend a patient’s life by years. While PIPAC is an exciting advancement for the Pancreatic Cancer community the bad news is the medical teams in the US are not as far along as the teams in Europe. The good news is there are teams in Europe that are making huge strides and are willing to take patients from the US who are quickly running out of treatment options. Val’s case has been reviewed and fast tracked by a team in Switzerland and they have the capability to treat her and potentially extend her life and others for years to come with this procedure. With every patient they have success with the more it will be available to others worldwide. Not surprising traditional US Medical Insurance will not cover the cost of this treatment so we are asking for your help. Valerie will be 56 years young February 14th, 2020…..she has two young sons Zak (24) and Jake (21) and Mark her loving husband and best friend of over 30 years. In addition, she has an extended family of siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends that can’t imagine even a day without her quick wit, belly laugh sense of humor and fun-loving outlook on life. Please help us get Valerie this treatment. She has been so brave and remains so brave in what is otherwise a terminal diagnosis and yet she is not ready or willing to give up…..she can and will travel around the world if she has too.
