Support Rita in Her Fight Against Cancer

I'm Jordyn and I've had the privilege of working alongside Rita and Chuck for several years. I speak for everyone who knows and loves them, and am confident you will too after you hear their story.

Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of knowing Rita knows: she's fiercely loyal, puts others before herself, she's an incredibly hard worker, and a magnificent better half to her partner, Chuck. Rita has spent decades in the Memphis area serving some of the best food and drinks in the city but more importantly, serving up a wonderful time for all of her guests. She is the “epitome of a heart of gold” and is in desperate need of our help. The first week of February they discovered stage 4 cancer in her lungs which has spread to her liver, necessitating chemotherapy. Once the rest of her tests came back it was discovered that she has spots on her lower brain stem and will need to go through radiation as well.

Like many of us during COVID, they both lost their insurance and depleted all savings to stay afloat. Without insurance the medical bills alone are, and will continue to be, astronomical. Rita and Chuck are very self- sufficient people who would never ask for any financial help unless absolutely necessary-that's where we come in!

The day to day bills are piling up and although Chuck is still working full time he is now the sole caretaker of the house, their fur babies, and Rita which has left him struggling to maintain his full workload.

Rita is home now in their two story condo where the bedroom and full bath is located upstairs. To initially make Rita comfortable we are looking to raise funds for a chair lift for the stairs and to help allay the sudden onset of enormous living and medical expenses.
