As an entrepreneur, I am standing up for people whom society would pass over.
When coronavirus hit, I was hustling day in and day out. I was studying to become a mortgage broker, I was earning my living as a real estate agent, and I as offering notary services to the public. Everything had been going well. I was proud of myself, too. Establishing my reputation in a business where people do not look like, both because of my gender and because of the color of my skin, I had carved out my niche.
The lockdowns have changed life for me, just as they have for many other Black business owners. Meanwhile, UPS is the only notary public that has remained open.
All of this has proven frustrating and discouraging for me, but I am not one to lay down and quit. Now more than ever, I see the value in standing up for the ethos that Black Businesses Matter, offering world-class real estate brokerage, mortgage brokerage, and notary public services to disadvantaged minorities. In addition, I am counseling young entrepreneurs about their careers and teaching people in the community about financial and credit literacy.
My goal has always been, and remains to be, to lead people out of poverty and into the land of prosperity, championing the fact that it takes capital to build capital.
What I Need
To keep the lights on at my business, I could use a little capital myself right now. This is where I am turning to you for support. My goal is to raise $5000, which will cover my operating costs and enable me to hire administrative personnel. The more that I raise, the smoother the next few months are going to go, and if I do not meet this funding goal, there is no telling where my business will end up.
As a campaign contributor, you are going to receive regular updates about my business and the initiatives I am pursuing to educate people about their finances and prepare them for brighter futures. You can count on me to keep you involved from here on out, letting you know about any other setbacks I encounter as well as all of my triumphs and successes.
