OCFS "On Call Fire Support"

The Orange County Flow Syndicate's On-Call Fire Support team  is growing into the premiere all 100% volunteer non-profit event fire safety organization in the state. The OCFS provides UFA trained volunteer fire safety crews to any event, club, or stage show wishing to ensure competent and reliable safety staff that will do the job right and keep your events safe and problem free. We believe by doing this we can further the flow arts and teach everyone who wants to learn and find their own flow in a safe and organized environment.

OCFS started out as a small bunch of flow arts who wanted to create a support team providing fire safety to anyone wanting to host a free flow arts area where people could come spin fire in a safe sane environment. Having a flow arts area has shown to enhance the event adding to the flavor and appeal. All supplies and equipment come out of our pockets we are not paid by the gatherings or our other events we volunteer for.  So We need your help to grow.

The Flagship model for what our goals are Is the Hades free fire spin area at Wasteland Weekend in California City CA. A post apocalyptic mad max style event in California City CA. Wasteland is a labor of love for us and as such we do not make any money from this event or any event we have worked with. The OCFS volunteers  work with the event fire safety coordinators to help  provide the fire safety for the stage and the effects used by the performers. OCFS volunteers also help to provide an open and fully staffed fire art's area so all fire dancers and flow artists can come and show off their skills and their art form with other attendees,  creating a unique interactive aspect to the event and adding to the entertainment value of the event at no cost to the event.

The funds raised here will help to purchase all of the safety equipment we will need to get us up and running. From fire extinguishers to emergency first aid kits, burn trauma and poison control kits, duvetyne fabric, staff armbands emergency communications, and much more. It really does take a lot to purchase all the stuff every year and this way we will provide even better services to the event we work with. This equipment will be ours and as such can be dedicated to the OCFS, we always have everything we need but renting borrowing and well begging is harder than just owning everything you need for the job and knowing it will be 100% ready for anything that might happen.

All of us at The OCFS are passionate and dedicated to spreading the fire arts to the world and teaching them how to keeping everyone safe.
