"TOMORROW WILL BE BETTER"
A short animated/live action film written by Xavier Cruz-García, John Chapman, and Isaac Bañuelos.

As film students, we have the passion and ability to create this film with your support. We believe our film stands out by telling a tale that blends live action and animation. Your donations will help fund the costs of animation, pay our actors, build our set and provide funding for other costs of production.

"Tomorrow Will Be Better" is the story of Elia, 16, who attempts to cope with being raped by a trusted companion. The story is told in the fantasy world that Elia has created to protect herself from the reality of what she had endured.

Elia’s story tells a powerful message that many women have to deal with in their lifetimes and fits in with the foundation’s social justice mission by addressing the powerful issue of rape and coping with the aftermath in a world that often ignores sexual assault. “Tomorrow Will Be Better” is designed as a call to action. We are hoping that the audience will come out of the film having a better understanding of the terrifying nature of rape and a lasting impression of what women have to face daily. We wish to break the stereotype of the “[girl] who cried wolf” and help people realize that this is a problem. Victims of rape suffer a lot in our society because there is not enough support for them and often times the justice system is unable to provide them any form of closure. We wish to start a conversation that desperately needs to proliferate throughout society. We hope that the content will help contribute to changing attitudes about rape victims and sexual assault in general.
