Our mission is to release dance music culture from the grips of addiction, dead end production and stigma by creating opportunities for development, performance and presentation.
MCEM was designed as a way to support artists from economically, geographically and culturally marginalized communities. Many local artists have contributed to partnership and collaboration across cultures and groups. Everyone loves a good beat and we are honored to create a space where a broad range of people can bring that love to life.
In building a structure for sharing content and resources, we designed MCEM as a way to support artists who are seeking development in the areas of music, visual art and performance. Extending from the history of flash raves, we inhabit vacant or unused spaces and fill them with programming; turning them into temporary institutions devoted to the art and culture of dance music.
