Imagine out of nowhere your husband doesn't know where he is, how to speak clearly or how to follow basic directions to dress himself.  Imagine being told by doctors that he has 2 days to live when he seemed perfectly healthy 4 days ago.  He had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in June but had never shown any symptoms.
On Tuesday, November 24, 2020 Tabitha Hayden took her 47 year old husband, Scott, to the hospital after he had been exhibiting very strange behavior.  ER doctors originally believed he had meningitis and would not survive 48 hours, but, thankfully, it was determined that wasn't the case.  He had a massive seizure, was placed on a ventilator in the ICU for a period of time and many tests were run.  Their hospital stay, expenses, and time off work were compounded when the lab lost a test.
Upon finally being discharged on December 4, a true diagnosis was still not known but a treatment plan was put in place.  Due to having a seizure, Scott's license has been revoked for at least 6 months.   Even if he is mentally capable and cleared to return to work, Scott will have been off for at least a month without pay.  The Hayden family will then have to utilize the Lyft service for his daily commute, which is estimated to cost approximately $1000/mo.  This financial burden, coupled with the stress of covering the mortgage, utilities, groceries and other living expenses on her salary alone, has Tabitha very concerned for her family.  Their children, ages 12 and 16, have been doing their best to cope with the fear of the unknown while doing their virtual schooling with Big Spring School District.
Donations will help with bills, food, medication that may not be covered by insurance, and primarily to help get Scott to and from work once he is able to return.  Tabitha is currently utilizing grocery delivery from WalMart.
If you've read this far, please know how much my family appreciates your concern.  Any little bit you can contribute would go a long way in helping my sister and brother-in-law and their children, especially during the holiday season.
