Mollies journey

Good afternoon everyone.

My name is Fiona and Ive been asked to start this go find me page to help support a young family that’s going through a very tough time.

I’d like you to meet mollie, mollie is ( was ) a happy healthy 11 months old little ray of sunshine.

She was in someone else care when the unthinkable happened - she picked up a button battery and swallowed it.

She was helicoptered from St. Helens to Hobart where she was placed on life support ( due to the acid ) and flown straight to the RCH Melbourne.

This was roughly 9 weeks ago.

She pulled through ok in Melbourne, flown back home. Spent 14 days in quarantine. Then bang she went down hill again. She’s been in a out of the RHH and currently ( right now 23rd August ) she is on life support again ready to be flown back to RCH Melbourne.

The battery acid that she swallowed has completely paralysed her vocal cords which basically means she cannot eat or drink ( as it floods her lungs ) she has to be tube feed. She can barely breathe on her own due to the damage done to her throat.

Her mum is a single mum of 3 girls and she’s really needing financial help. We are asking to raise money for her medical requirements as her new specific cot is near on $4500.

There is many other equipment she needs but I’ve just done this very quickly due to all the medical issues today and having to fly back to Melbourne today.

Please please help me help this beautiful single mum keep everything afloat.
