Tuhy Bear Needs Surgery
Donation protected
Tuhy Bear, a Czech German Shepherd, is an 8 month old puppy. He has undergone multiple examinations including x-rays, CT Scans, a biopsy and other procedures. He is diagnosed with a very rare condition known as Calcinosis Circumscripta which is basically a degenerated left hip bone. The OSU Veterinary School can surgically remove the calcium scattered around the area (as seen in the x-ray) and somewhat reconstruct the joint without doing a full joint replacement. The cost is estimated to be a little over $2000. The alternatives are amputation or euthanasia.
