Megan's Fight Against Cancer

My name is Kelly and I am Megan's identical twin sister. Megan is 31-years old and went to her general practitioner on Tuesday night 11/15 because there was swelling in her neck. Within 48 hours she was admitted into the hospital for an emergency biopsy after conclusive masses were found in her chest and lungs. We're grateful to the medical professionals who are being aggressive with finding more answers for Megan so that we can get her the right treatment immediately. Within the next few days we will have the results back from the biopsy of whether it is a form of Lymphoma or Lung Cancer. With that said, Megan has had to take off work in an extended leave of absence so we can fight this and beat this as quickly as possible. Megan is the beautiful, caring mother of her and Keith's 9 month old Son, Parker. Fur Mama to their furbabies Zoe and Carter, incredible Aunt to her Niece and Nephew, Sloane (19 months) and Calvin (due January 2023), loving Daughter to Roy and Lois, has worked in healthcare for over 15 years in her support for the Autism Community and CDPAP Home Healthcare. Her zest for life, health, and fitness has us all bewildered at this diagnosis, but we know that if anyone can beat this, it is Megan, with the rally of her friends and family.

The funds raised from this fundraiser will be distributed to Megan, Keith and Parker in support of Parker's supplemental childcare during this difficult time, Megan's medical bills so we can provide her with the best medical care, comfort items for Megan during and after treatments, and security and stability in their day-to-day bills so they can focus 100% on Megan's fight and recovery.

"We didn't come this far to only come this far" is one of Megan's favorite mottos during challenging times. Update 11/22/22: Biopsy and PET scan results have come back. Megan is fighting Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  If there is a silver lining on this fight, it is this: Lymphoma has a very high success rate of being CURABLE, which Megan WILL be with the support and love from you all, along with the incredible medical professionals of Sloan Kettering. It is going to be a long, challenging road ahead, but she is determined and we know she will beat this. Megan will begin chemo in about two weeks. Her next doctors’ appointments will also keep an eye on the mass on her right lung, and she’ll be getting a port in her chest. 

The expenses are already adding up. It is frustrating as a family watching your loved one go through this hell while the medical bills come piling in. We are grateful to each and every one of you who have been so generous already in lending financial support to Megan, Keith and Parker. Please continue to donate in any capacity you can. Needless to say, Megan will not be working for the foreseeable future and that becomes a very big financial hit without then taking into account the medical bills for treatment and care, Parker’s supplemental childcare during this time, and their family’s day to day bills.
