US-Nepal Friendship Team Denali Expedition

My Name Is Mark Parella. I am fundraising for the US-Nepal Friendship Team Denali expedition to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations b between our two nations.

On June 1st, my very good friend Karma Tenzing and I will be leading a fantastic team of Sherpas up Mt. Denali in Alaska in honor of the Diamond Jubilee, 75 years of Diplomatic relations between the United States and Nepal. Our mission is to exemplify our nations' bond by climbing the highest mountain in North America.

For decades Nepal has opened its borders to mountaineers aspiring to climb the massive peaks of the Himalayas, and the Sherpa people have been the backbone of those expeditions and feats. They and their families have put themselves at significant risk on countless occasions for the sake of others and made dreams come true. I hope to honor them as a representative of the United States by inviting them to climb in America for the pride of both our nations.

This GoFund Me is to assist in the expenses of the expedition 3 members of the team who are Himalayan mountain guides. A Sherpa mountain guide income is far less compared to American standards. Please help me eliminate some of the financial burdens of this expedition on them. It is time for their dreams of climbing in America to come true, as they had made my dream, along with countless other mountaineers of climbing In Nepal, come true.
