USMC Cpl. Patrick Duva - cancer

United States Marine Corporal Patrick Duva, son of an NYPD officer (who died as a result of injuries sustained in the line of duty) and nephew of Jersey City OEM Director and retired JCPD Sgt. Greg Kierce, served our country honorably from 2009 through 2013 and is an infantry combat veteran of the war in Afghanistan.  Patrick, who is only 27, was recently diagnosed with cancerous brain and spine tumors (germinomas) which have had serious debilitating effects. He will require extensive treatment and has a long fight ahead of him.  His only medical coverage is through the VA, which is lacking to say the least.  He is in need of transportation to and from his home in Avon by the Sea, NJ and the treatment facility in Somerset, NJ (one of the tumors is effecting his vision, leaving him unable to drive).  Treatment will be 5 DAYS A WEEK FOR 5 WEEKS, beginning in July.  Needless to say, the transportation alone will be costly, never mind all of the other issues that this young man will be confronted with.  Any donations to help defer the cost of transportation and other needs would be greatly appreciated.
