Passion Projects Presents: Urinetown
The inaugural project of this organization is none other than Urinetown: the Musical.
Passion Projects is a new theatrical organization dedicated to bringing open-minded collaborators who are aware of the current moment. We strive to work in an environment that is not dedicated to any commercial value, but rather dedicated to examining content, while weaving in our own personal interpretation and pulse of a text that we are truly passionate about. As a team, we make theatre that is handcrafted for each specific audience in that particular room at that given time. We believe that the work we do on stage is directly charged by the way in which the audience is currently experiencing the world.
A performance of this piece will be presented on the afternoons and evenings of January 20th and 21st in the Black Box Theatre of 440 Lafayette at Playwrights Downtown.
We invite you all to attend these showings and support the development of this piece by donating to our GoFundMe. We intend to not only have a collaborative experience for the company, but give our audiences a full theatrical experience. WE need YOU because our essential purpose is serve and create theatre that is not only fulfilling to us as artists, but can fully evoke our mission statement, and in term provide the most audience forward experience possible. All funds will go directly towards essential costs for this production. We need sound equipment to soundproof the band, so the audience can hear the actors more clearly. We need a variety of costumes, to transform our actors, many of whom are playing multiple, distinct, challenging roles in the show. We need proper building supplies to create a set that transforms the small little black box into the world that we imagine. The funds we receive will go towards a budget for the project that will ultimately provide more creative freedom for our team. The money will go directly towards this production as well as towards future developments of the company. No amount is too small as it will all go towards creating the best piece of art we can produce.
