Urgent Surgery Needed for Michelle

Michelle Harris Hackleton Needs IMMEDIATE surgery — reaching out for prayer & support.  Rick & Michelle Hackleton are facing an urgent health delimma.  Gifted musician, keyboard/pianist, Michelle is a dear friend to so many at Bell Shoals Baptist Church & is in immediate need of Sigmoidectomy surgery to correct perforated Diverticulitis.  

A group of Rick & Michelle’s friends put this GoFundMe page together because it is becoming difficult for her to chase after sons Bradley age 4, Brian 11mos & help her busy husband while maintain a household.  One of the most optimistic, funniest ladies you will ever meet, Michelle is strong in faith, with an amazing attitude & has a fantastic outlook even though she is in severe pain at times due to the increasing inflammation.  

Perforated Diverticulitis is a serious & urgent condition that can quickly go south.  The surgeon explained, it's much like a ticking time bomb, irritation & inflamed pouches formed on the Sigmoid section of the colon where small food particles are able to be trapped.   Sigmoidectomy Laparoscopic surgery for Sigmoid colon resection, is needed to remove the damaged area & reconnect to healthy tissue.  The surgery is dire, even a mild infection could be devastating, risking another perforation, allowing contents of intestine to leak into her body.  Additionally, the longer the ruptured area of the colon rests against the bladder, the greater the threat of more serious complications & deterioration of her overall health.   

With a hefty $3,000 Medicaid deductible followed by physician fees, medications & follow-up visits not covered by insurance, our goal of $4,000 as been determined so the Hackleton family will be able to schedule this surgery right-away with peace, knowing they will be able to pay their deductible as well as postOp treatment & care.   Our deadline is November 1 with preOP procedures & surgery scheduled shorty after.   This is important as the deductible starts over unless the procedures & surgery are within the same month.
