URGENT: Relief for Tala's Medical & Family in Gaza
Don protégé
We are friends of a family in Gaza who desperately needs medical care and aid to evacuate, here is a letter from our friend Eman ❤️
Hello Dear Humanity,
My name is Eman from Gaza, a wife and a mother of four children. One of whom is a 12-year-old kid fighting severe back illness. As a mother and a wife, I'm
struggling to protect my three little girls- Ghazal (14), Tala (12), Sameera (7)- and my only boy -Ismael (10)-amidst the chaos of war and ongoing conflict.
Life under War
With the recent escalation of violence and continuous bombing in Gaza, our lives have been turned upside down. We face the constant threat of death, scarcity of basic necessities (food, water, electricity, or even internet) and the destruction of our home multiple times due to targeted attacks on neighboring buildings. Our home has been partially destroyed just three days after the war (October 10) forcing us to evacuate many times.
My Sick Kid & A Desperate Mother’s Cry
My heart breaks for my dear 12-year-old daughter, Tala. Every day is a battle, watching her fight illness with nothing I can do to help her. Each moment is painful.
Tala, my beloved daughter, has been battling severe chronic pain in her thoracic vertebrae spine. She has been diagnosed with an Aneurysmal bone cyst causing massive spinal canal compression at D8. Despite enduring months of excruciating pain, she was fortunate to receive medical treatment at The Istishari Arab Hospital in the West Bank in March 2023, with full financial coverage from the Ministry of Health.
She underwent three surgeries on her back. The first operation was to remove the spinal hematoma (tumor), the second one to correct the spinal vertebrae that were tilted due to the presence of the spinal hematomata and the third was to insert a shunt in her waist because there was fluid leaking from the spinal cord. This led to an incision on the side of her waist and a tube being inserted into her body to drain this fluid (She had 7 stitches on this side and +40 on her back).
However, her condition has worsened, and she now requires an additional surgery to remove the Platinum in her back.
I’ve spent countless nights, praying with all my heart for a solution, for something to happen. I’ve shared our story, pouring my soul into every plea of help, hoping that someone, somewhere out there, hears our desperate cry.
I dream of a day where we can leave this place, if only for a while, to get the medicine she so desperately in need of. A fundraising campaign might be our last and only hope.
I ask the world to see my pain, to feel the heaviness of a mother’s despair, and to lend a hand. Help us gather the resources to leave Gaza, to get the care Tala deserves. Every little bit isn’t just a donation; it’s a lifeline for my daughter, a chance for a brighter tomorrow.
A Big Dream of a Lawyer
Tala, my determined daughter, dreams of a future filled with possibilities and success. She has a passion for Photography, Arabic Literature and Poetry. Despite the challenges we face, she holds onto the idea of becoming a lawyer, advocating for justice and bringing light to dark corners in Gaza. YES!! She has a BIG dream. Tala’s talents have gotten her to be hosted by several TV channels before like Palestine TV Channel, Al Quds TV Channel, Sabahcom Falastini TV Channel and others.
Purpose of Fundraising Campaign
I am initiating this fundraising campaign to raise funds for the evacuation of my family-MY FOUR CHILDREN, HUSBAND AND MYSELF- to safety through the Rafah/Egypt crossing border. This is our only chance to survive, and I humbly seek your assistance now more than ever.
Breakdown of Expenses:
● Evacuating Eman and her husband: $10,000 ($5,000 per +16 adult)
● Evacuating her four children: $5,000 ($2,000 per child)
● Tala’s upcoming surgery: $3000
● Four Months Living Expenses in Egypt: $2000
Your generous donation will not only help cover the evacuation expenses but also provide us with modest funds to sustain ourselves once we cross the border and begin to rebuild our shattered lives. I assure you that all funds raised will be used transparently and efficiently.
We are working with trusted individuals to transfer the funds safely. Natasha Mills, A friend in the U.S.will handle the transfer to a family friend in Egypt, who will then pay the Egyptian authorities through Hala Travel Company in Nasr City, Cairo, to facilitate our crossing.
Your compassion and generosity can make a world of difference for my family during this harrowing time. Thank you,
Eman
All funds will be wired to them immediately for medical care and aid, thank you.
