Urgent Legal fees to fight for justice in US court

Donation protected
On the 24th February 2020 Cindy and I were arrested by  undercover detectives from the Idaho State Liquor
Division. We were arrested on charges alleging criminal conspiracy and the alleged sale of alcohol without a license.

Cindy and I were released on our own recognizance on Thursday the 19th of March from Kootenai County Jail in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. We were given our Canadian passports  and were able to return home. We are now under quarantine for at least two weeks or longer depending on isolation protocols put in place by the Canadian government that continue to be updated. Everything has been impacted by this situation including our business and especially our financial situation for not only paying to fight this case but also for necessities that could include food, living expenses and anything else that we may need.

We desperately need to raise substantial funds for ongoing legal fees so that we can continue to work with our lawyer on defending against these charges.

Cindy and I realize that many of you are also facing difficult financial circumstances and we are so grateful for any support you can give at this challenging time.

After initially setting the target based on the maximum amount quoted to us for taking this action through trial we have been able to secure a flat fee that with cover almost everything except for outside experts and incidental costs that will likely not be needed in this case. This is somewhat of a relief to Cindy and I and although still daunting at least now we have a fixed target to aim for.

Thank you,
Jonathan and Cindy

The Official Secret Spirits Press Release:

On the 24th February Cindy and Jonathan Bray the owners of Secret Spirits were arrested by officers from the Idaho State Liquor Division on alleged charges of criminal conspiracy and the alleged sale of alcohol in the State of Idaho without a license.

Cindy and Jonathan claim that 100% of the product that they were re-directing to some of their customers had entered the U.S. legally and that all duties and taxes had been paid.

This included the product that was sold to Idaho State Liquor Division undercover officers. The Brays claim that these products had been already customs and tax paid for other customers that subsequently cancelled their orders due to shipping delays before Christmas of 2019. They also claim that this transaction was the only in person exchange of product made by Jonathan and Cindy Bray to anyone in the U.S. or State of Idaho and was done so only on the basis that all taxes and duties had been paid.

The Bray’s have engaged Joseph Sullivan Attorney at Law in Coeur d'Alene who is in communication with the prosecution and is working with them to bring about a resolution to the case. The next court date is set for the 15th July 2020.

Cindy and Jonathan were released on their own recognizance by court order on the 19th March 2020. Their passports were returned and they were able to return home to Canada where they remain under Covid-19 self-quarantine for at least 2 weeks or for as long as the isolation stipulation by the Canadian Government remains in force.

The Bray’s have launched a Go fund me campaign to raise money for the extensive legal fees that will be required to defend against these allegations.
