Urgent Help for Christine & Orien’s Home and Sanct

Friends we have a beloved in a serious crisis. Christine and Orien Laplante started the process over the past year of a major renovation to expand their home, trying to make what they already had large enough for their expanded family, and to improve the sanctuary space, that has held so many of us, for so many years. This was a deep and well thought out dream, and held sacred a land that had birthed, and held so many in community. 

 This vision has turned into a construction nightmare.

Recently their contractor completely ghosted them, with an open roof and almost $20,000 of their building funds.

This is an immense loss for a very tightly budgeted project and the building being unprotected caused tens of thousands in damages, the estimate may be as high as another $30,000. 

We need to gather round and raise the support to see them through at least this next phase while they pursue legal action. 

The immediate need is to get the project to a place where there is no further damage happening. They are doing everything possible to raise funds, and this week a breaking point was reached.

These two amazing beings live in service, create so much beautiful space for so many, and host a beautiful space in Hearthstone that has held gatherings and rituals for many of us. Please help save this home and lift up our beloveds in community.

Christine's words below tell us so much more..

"We have a subcontractor who was already working on the house ready to go but the current builder hasn’t paid his debts so our lumber was held up. We are hoping to hear very soon how to move forward with that.

We have nothing left, after being displaced for as long as we have (and the incompetence of our builder in understanding what was possible in our situation but that is a way larger story). So we wait and figure out how to get folks paid by the correct channels with the right paperwork and while we do… my house has taken in water.

We need a miracle. We need solid help. What that help is… I don’t know yet. We need energy and focus on the new guy being more than competent. Being skilled. Being quick. Having a good crew. (We have already seen examples of this). We need energy to hold the old guy accountable to our money and making it right, refunding what he owes us immediately, so we can continue.

We are feeling a certain kind of pain we have never felt before. We understood that renovations were stressful and had complications and we also feel this is way beyond. We followed the right paths and channels and jumped through the right hoops and paperwork. We have never done this before. We trusted a process. And it has failed us at the moment.

We have been carrying this alone for almost a year. Sharing very little about it. I can’t be silent any longer. What is happening is not in integity and it feels like there are other energies swirling about.

Please Know that I am doing every next right thing. Showing up. Having conversations. Negotiating with the resources we do have. Thing is…We are running out of resources and in some areas… we’ve run out. We aren’t as young as we used to be. We feel defeated. We don’t have the same reserves of energy that tenacity requires.

I want my home. I feel, right now, like I’ve lost two homes. I’m trying to stay hopeful and keep the faith. I’m trying to stay loving and open hearted as I watch my family’s suffering increase. There is only so much we can surrender before it turns to defeat.

In this devastation there is relief that someone competent will come in and clean this up… but until we get confirmation of all the new gears turning… I am holding my breath. Please send some mojo that the wheels start moving again quickly and way more efficiently and expertly done."
