Urgent Help for a Veteran's Rent and Mobility Needs

Setting up a GoFundMe Account is not anyone’s first choice. It’s certainly a last resort in this case. I have an older relative who needs a little help. Very recently, my relative had a week long hospital stay that resulted in not being able to work for a full week. This fellow has been living independently, working full time and taking the bus back and forth to work. The setback created a deficit in his budget that he just cannot overcome without some help. He has congestive heart failure which is quite advanced. Due to his limitations, he hasn’t been able to keep up with chores as simple as taking out the trash. I’ve spent a couple weeks cleaning up his place and trying to mitigate the pest situation as well as I am able. Likely, this will require professional help. He needs some help making his rent by the first, some extra grocery money and if we are able to raise enough, he would benefit from a used electric blade scooter to get him to and from the bus stop ($300-500) as his mobility is severely compromised. I’m trying to get his VA Benefits activated and also his Social Security Benefits. We have to get him a current ID card, as his drivers license is expired. He is unmarried, no children, no living parents or siblings. There is great need, as he will be homeless if he cannot continue to pay his rent and keep working until we get some benefits activated. Any donation will be used for these purposes. No amount too small. I’ve left his name out of this post, as he deserves a little privacy. Any personal good wishes will be passed along to him.
