Urgent assistance for a neck opperation

Please help my Mom....

We live in Zimbabwe, and my Mom needs to have urgent neck surgery because of a car accident caused by a reckless driver.

In 2014 a distracted driver didn’t see my mom, who was stopped, waiting to turn into work. The driver smashed into the back of my mom’s car at high speed. Thankfully, the car didn’t roll into the oncoming traffic but did roll three times, stopping on its roof in a ditch.

The reckless driver was not held accountable in any way.

She was then misdiagnosed for two years after the accident. Eventually, in 2016 she was in severe pain; after seeing multiple Doctors she went to see yet another different Doctor who luckily immediately took x-rays of my Mom’s neck and arranged for her to see a neurosurgeon, who then had an MRI done and told my mom that she had to have neck Fusion done right away as the vertebra in her neck had shifted and was pinching off her spinal cord.

After having this surgery done the neurosurgeon told Mom that she would have to have another fusion done in more or less 2 years’ time.

Well it’s been 8 years since then, my mom’s living arrangements changed and she moved back to Zimbabwe from South Africa 6 years ago and now needs to urgently have the second Fusion done as the Vertebra above the last fusion have shifted and are now also pinching off her spinal cord causing nerve damage and multiple other side effects.

The health care in Zimbabwe leaves a lot to be desired and with the Zimbabwe Dollar devaluing daily the cost of the surgery just keeps going up and up.

She has put it off for far too long now, and she now has several side effects, including :

I have watched Mom go from an active life of fishing, gardening, and always baking or cooking new recipes to not having been able to spend time in her garden for months now. There are more and more nights now that she cannot even knit due to the loss of strength in her arms.

Mom always gives back whenever she can; she goes without so that we can all have the things we need or want and so that others can live more comfortably.

I have never asked for help financially, and neither has my Mom, but with how badly my Mom is deteriorating and with our medical aid/ health insurance that hardly covers anything, we have just run out of options.

I just want to have my Mom back to normal so that we can do all the things we used to do together again.

Please help me help my Mom.
