Urgent appeal

Wild wings bird of prey rescue is one of the best bird of prey rescues in the North West area, they currently have over 100 birds at the centre many of which are ex falconry birds who may have been pts but thanks to this amazing team have a second chance along with others such as ferrets and Raccoons. They also rescue and rehabilitate wild birds of prey all around the surrounding areas and provide much needed help to other wildlife rescues in the area especially sharing their knowledge and supporting these other places. Please let's come together and as a community and wildlife enthusiasts help out this rescue In need. ( Tameside's People 4 Wildlife)

Below is a statement from wild wings themselves

Our Planning Permission was only granted for 5 years due to the future plans for HS2. That expires in April this year, yes in just 2 months time.

HS2 have confirmed that they are happy for us to have an extension until Dec 2025. Our Landlords have also kindly agreed to that extension.

Unfortunately the Council have now confirmed that we will need to submit another Full Planning Application which will cost in the region of £6,500. We had submitted a Variation of Condition Application to allow the extension of the date. This has been refused. We have been conversing with them and there is sadly no alternative. We either raise the funds to submit the Application, very quickly, or we have to vacate the site.

With having survived during Covid and during the ongoing Avian Flu situation are finances are only able to cover our current outgoings, we have no spare funding.

We understand that things are tight for everybody and hate to even ask but the survival of the Centre and the future of all our resident rescues depend on being able to submit this Application.

We will obviously be doing everything we can to raise the monies required but if you can help in any way, no matter how small it will make a huge difference.
